Being a career Windows user who switched to the Mac a couple of years ago immediately sent me on a quest to find applications that would replace the ones I used on my PC. One of the applications I used extensively was a universal chat client. Rather than have to install one for Yahoo!, one for MSN, one for Google Talk, etc., I was able to use just one client to connect to all of them.
That’s how I came across Adium, and it was love at first chat!
Adium is a universal chat client for Mac OS X that is both easy to use and highly configurable. That’s a tremendous accomplishment for any application!
With Adium, I can connect to a myriad of chat services, including:
- AOL
- Yahoo!
- MSN
- Google Talk
- Jabber
- .Mac
- Bonjour
- ICQ
- LiveJournal
- MySpaceIM
- Lotus Sametime
- Novell Groupwise
- and more!
There is a rich assortment of themes, sounds and customizations available that will please any user. It’s a great program and very reliable.
Give Adium a try! I think you’ll like it as much as I do!
